Hiatus, interrupted

I have at least five unfinished posts pending but right at the moment I just can't find strength to think any thought to the end. It might have to do something with autumn suddenly planting its cold, nacked heel on my throat or the fact that my life doesn't allow much room for dancing.
I missed out on the Tango Argentino Festival Wuppertal almost completely save for two milongas.
I've been reading a lot though as it's one of those activities that aren't tied to time.
And I'm getting this travel itch again. Sometimes I don't even know what triggered this tugging feeling in the pit of my stomach: a picture in the newspaper, a bout of wind - but there it is, tugging away.
However this time it occured when I found one of the old snapshots showing me laughing with the head thrown back, the elegant nose of Flatiron building behind me.
There were times in my life when every second day I would drive out to the airport and watch planes taking off. I looked at the timetable and imagined stepping out of the pot-bellied airbus in the city with the name I couldn't even pronounce properly, let alone find them on the map.
Right now I'm not even sure I would want to explore something new. My skin thinned down to the point of disintegrating and even if I wanted adventure, I could take in just as much.
But I would love to go somewhere sunny.

Good you are writing again. I came here several times, hoping to find something new. I like your prose, and the mixture of views similar to mine and others opposing is inspiring. Keep on the good work.

What have you been reading? I've just finished Mansfield Park - which left me in a state of fascinated doubt as to what Jane Austen really thought about anything at all.

Thank you, Björn. I’ll try to keep up blogging, but lately my mind has been all over the place and I’ve been having a hard time concentrating on posting.
Ms Hedgehog,
Lots of books simultaneously :-). “Dreamland” by Kevin Baker, “Small island “ by Andrea Levy, “Les veus del Palamo” by Jaume Cabré ( all three of them amazing and highly recommendable). And a couple of Russian books as I’m trying to keep up with new developments on the Russian book market.
You don’t seem particularly enthusiastic about “Mansfield park”:-) That was the only book by Austen I wasn’t keen on at first, but gradually I came around to understand and even to love it. What's your favourite Jane Austen novel?

Actually I found Mansfield Park a very interesting read. I thought it started slowly, but I got to a certain point and couldn't stop because I had to know how she would get out of where the plot had gone. I was quite startled by the ending as it concerned Maria, and I wondered why it ended as it did concerning the heroine - I wondered if Austen just didn't feel she could write that bit convincingly. I was really interested in what she was doing, there, and thought about it for days.

The one that speaks to me most, emotionally, is Persuasion. But I love the plot of Pride and Prejudice; I can't un-convince myself that the whole Lydia thing is a deliberate plot by Wickham with the specific and sole object of stopping Darcy getting what he wants - for the first time in his life - or at least making it cost him a lot of money. You only have to assume that W has become aware that D wants E, and when you look at it, this is a rather plausible assumption. For W it's a win-win proposition, with bonus schoolgirl sex.
